As November has arrived, temperatures are gradually dropping, and we're starting to feel the shift from autumn to winter.
Personally, while I enjoy hot summers, there's a different kind of joy in winter when you can wear a coat.
Today, I'd like to briefly introduce the TIELOCKEN COAT, a style WIZZARD has been developing for several seasons, explaining what kind of coat it is.

The "TIELOCKEN COAT"
The Tie-Locken Coat, often considered the prototype of the trench coat, was developed by Burberry in 1910 for the British army. It was named "Tie-Locken" because of its design, which involves "tying (tie) it to lock it" when worn.
Incidentally, the trench coat is an improved version of this Tie-Locken Coat, designed to cover the entire body of a soldier and prevent rain from entering.
WIZZARD has also created various coats in the past.
When designing the 2020 AW collection, we at WIZZARD contemplated our next coat proposal as a brand. Among the many types of coats—Chester coats, stand-collar coats, mod coats—we wanted to try a design that WIZZARD hadn't offered before, so we were working on a design based on the trench coat.
The catalyst came when I was tracing the history of the trench coat.
That's when I encountered the existence of the "TIELOCKEN COAT".
Unlike the trench coat, which has many details and accessories, the Tie-Locken Coat's "beauty in its simple structure"—worn only with a belt, giving it a gown-like element—was very appealing.
To that, we added original design elements such as umbrella yokes, typically seen on trench coats, to both the front and back, designing it so that the three-dimensional effect stands out when the waist is cinched with a belt.
Around the collar, we placed a removable chin strap for warmth and an AirPods pocket in the inner pocket. These are WIZZARD-like specifications, conscious of urban living.
Now, through continuous development and updates by WIZZARD, it has become a beloved coat that we have offered for several seasons.
We sincerely hope that you, too, will have the opportunity to try it on.
