In 1994, Kuroyume made its major debut. At the height of their popularity with unique performances and powerful songs, they suddenly announced an indefinite hiatus after four years.
In the same year, he formed SADS, and in 2000, their theme song for the TBS drama "Ikebukuro West Gate Park," "Bōkyaku no Sora," became a huge hit. The album "BABYLON," which included this song, reached number one on Oricon charts.
In 2003, he debuted as Kiyoharu with the DVD single "Aurora." In 2004, he performed as the opening act for David Bowie's JAPAN TOUR in Osaka. In October 2020, he published his autobiography "Kiyoharu." On March 20, 2024, he released "ETERNAL," his 11th original album as Kiyoharu and his first release since transferring to Yamaha Music Communications.
On February 9, 2025, a revival concert for Kuroyume was announced at Tokyo Garden Theater for their 30th-anniversary celebration, their first in 10 years. Tickets sold out in hours, leading to an additional performance at Pia Arena MM on February 11. He has also performed at numerous festivals nationwide and will embark on a 10-show Zepp TOUR starting in July.
