In this WIZZARD LINER NOTES VOL.9, titled "AFTER HOURS," which was also the theme for 2023ss, I'd like to talk a little about this season's theme and concept.

Lately, restrictions due to COVID-19 have eased considerably, and I imagine many of you are now able to go out to events and dine out without as much concern as before.
When I started planning this season, there were still many restrictions due to the pandemic, and I felt a certain sense of pressure.
Around that time, I was often watching movies at home, and I rewatched several Jim Jarmusch films that I had seen before.
One of them was COFFEE AND CIGARETTES. It's an anthology of 11 short stories. To put it simply, it features subtly, or rather exquisitely, interesting conversations over coffee and cigarettes. Lol. If you haven't seen it yet, definitely check it out! It's a unique work that's not quite a film, but I really love it. After watching it, I felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders, and my stiff thoughts and feelings had relaxed. My personal interpretation is that the work conveys the importance of trivial moments and, at times, the importance of "relaxing." It's about remembering those moments and realizing how important it is to enjoy life.
I decided I wanted the direction and image of the project to also revolve around the keyword "relax."
This was reflected in the specifications, fabrics, color schemes, and garment forms.
The keyword was "relax," but what does "relax" mean to me? What are those moments of relaxation? The first thing that came to mind was Organik Festival 2019 in Taiwan, which I attended before COVID-19. It was about the time and environment shared with friends in a place where we could listen to and share music. As an aside, during the recent shoot near Haneda Airport, I was the only one holding onto strong feelings for Organik Festival 2020, which was suddenly canceled due to COVID-19 and I couldn't attend. Lol.
Also, Organik Festival, which became a source of inspiration for my image of relaxation, is reflected in the main graphics and colors. I used motifs such as the smoke and lighting shown in the attached images, and the light from morning to night.
Organik Festival resumed this year. I had to give it up due to work commitments this time, but if you're interested, please check it out! I'm definitely going next year! Wait for me, Taiwan!
