This week, coinciding with the arrival of the limited-production ARCHIVE GRAPHIC T-SHIRT, we will introduce in detail the GRAPHIC T-SHIRT “LIFE,” which has been a long-selling item since its release in 2013S/S.
＜ARCHIVE GRAPHIC T-SHIRT “LIFE”＞
The print "LIFE IS A KILLER TRIP" means "life is the best journey."
Over the past 10 years since its release, there have been various updates.
The fabric at the time of initial sale started with reproducing an 80's band T-shirt that the designer owned.
We created a jersey using fine-count slub yarn and applied sulfur bio-processing to create the body.
The initial print featured a crack print that fractured into a tortoise shell pattern.
This was also to reproduce the designer's vintage clothing. This was the initial type.
After sales ended, due to requests from several retailers and end-users, re-releases began.
However, this type was re-released several times, but issues with print deterioration and incompatibility with the fabric were unsatisfactory, so the crack print was changed to a rubber print as the 2nd type.
For the 3rd type, the fabric was changed based on the concept of wanting to improve the overall fabric properties of WIZZARD's printed bodies.
In this type, the fabric was changed from the conventional slanting jersey fabric to one using 72/2 double-ply yarn, reducing skewing due to washing.
Furthermore, by applying gas singeing (a process to remove surface fuzz unique to cotton) to a high-gauge jersey, we created a texture like a vintage band T-shirt with no fuzz.
The material of the 3rd type had no skew and was satisfactory in terms of strength, so it was continued for several years, but as it was more suitable for spring/summer than all year round, it was then updated to the current 4th type.
The body of the 4th type is what WIZZARD currently uses for all its GRAPHIC T-SHIRTS, made from lightweight, durable, and warm 50/2 GIZA jersey.
GIZA yarn is an Egyptian extra-long staple cotton produced in the Nile River basin in Egypt, offering a good feel against the skin, no skewing when washed, and a supple material that can be worn all year round.
The current 4th type body and printing method are not designed to imitate vintage band T-shirts, but are created with the concept that the wearer, through years of use, will develop a unique character, becoming a true vintage band T-shirt with a different look for each person.
